Ahmedabad city is set to get its tallest building, which will have 42 storeys. This is going to be a residential project and it will be taller than the 41-storeyed commercial building planned on SG Road,

Ahmedabad skyline on SG Road is set to include the tallest building in the city soon. A 42-storeyed residential project will overtake in height the 41-storeyed commercial building planned on the same road.

ARK Infra is developing a residential tower that will have premium 4-5 BHK apartments at the cost is around Rs 250 crore. The building will be erected on a 5,500-square-yard plot with a floor space index (FSI) of 5.4. The upcoming building will have about 65 units of 4-5 BHK premium apartments with three floors of dedicated parking space.

The fear of earthquake and tremors witnessed in 2001 are distant memories now for Ahmedabad. The city is witnessing renewed interest in tall buildings. Around a dozen projects with more than 30 storeys are said to be at various stages of planning with at least three such approved so far.

A special technical committee (STC) was formed by the government to advise local authorities on permissions for such tall buildings in August 2021. The state government had announced special provisions for tall and iconic buildings in the major cities of the state through special additions under the Comprehensive General Development Control Regulations (CGDCR) 2017.
