Punit Lalbhai, Executive Director, Arvind Limited, addresses at Ahmedabad University as part of the Amrut Mody School of Management’s Leadership Series 2.0. He shared his leadership insights from leading Arvind Manufacturing businesses including core textiles and engineering and outlined the specific green initiatives that organisation has implemented.
He said that “We understand that if a company has its fundamental right, it has got the business right. We are not just following best practices and looking forward to more, but also ensuring the industry benefits from our understanding of sustainability through collaborations and associations.
Furthermore, he said that “Our world is excessively rational. The rational frame is beneficial but it does not explain human performance. Besides skills, performance is driven by clarity, focus, attitude, and inspiration. An introspective practice helps. Internal sustainability leads to sustainable organisations which leads to sustainable industries and landscapes.” At the end of the event, he engaged the students in a meditation session.
