Ahmedabad: Woman Dies In Fatal Mishap On SG Road

On Sunday morning, a newly engaged couple from Thaltej who went to visit a relative’s place for dinner on Saturday night died in a fatal accident on the SG Highway near Binori Hotel.

The woman was died in the collision, and the man who was driving the car was charged with careless driving.

Hanisha Magrela (27), a resident of Ankleshwar, and Siddhanth Khatri (30), a resident of Thaltej’s Westend Park Society, got engaged just 20 days ago. Magrela and his parents had spent the previous week residing at Khatri’s home. The couple had dinner at a relative’s home close to Vaishnodevi Circle on Saturday night.

Khatri lost control of the car while driving home around 3.30 a.m., causing it to jump over the bridge railing, drop into the service road below, and turn turtle. The incident occurred near the Binori Hotel on SG Highway.

The accident was so severe that the front of the car, a Mahindra XUV 300, was badly mangled. Magrela suffered severe wounds to her abdomen and right thigh, and the couple was also severely injured. The couple was rushed to Zydus Hospital, where doctors declared Magrela dead.

An FIR was filed against Khatri under the IPC and the MV Act for causing the accident that killed his fiancé. A similar accident occurred at the same location later when a car jumped the divider and collided with a pole.
