| Updated: December 21, 2022 19:22

Corona is re-emerging all over the world. Today, during a review meeting with officials from the central and state governments, Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel discussed the new Corona variant discovered in the state.

As there are 20 active cases, the situation in Gujarat appears to be under control. Symptoms of an Omicron B7 variant were seen in a corona-infected patient in Ahmedabad at the time, sources said. In response to this new variant, the health department has begun taking action and has also stated the process of genome sequencing matching. In addition, they began looking into whether or not there is a registered variant in China. As per the sources, if a new variant is discovered, the patient will be admitted to an isolation ward.

During this meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Aggarwal directed that foreign tourists be tested and tracked. The health department’s authorities have been notified and are making the necessary preparations. Currently, the state records only a few cases of corona. The state government is also closely monitoring the preparations.

So far, only 33% of people in the state have received the booster dose. As a result, the availability of the vaccination will be monitored.
