As the Assembly elections approach the poll-bound states of India, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, the political parties are becoming more active. In a recent statement, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) mentioned that Congress President Sonia Gandhi formed screening committees for both states for the forthcoming elections. The notice said that the committees would come into being with immediate effect.
Congress General Secretary, KC Venugopal, signed the statement containing the members’ names in both the committees. The screening committee of Gujarat includes Ramesh Chennithala (member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly), Shivajirao Moghe (Advocate and politician from Maharashtra), and Jai Kishan (Former member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly). Gujarat Legislative Elections are speculated to be held in December 2022.
