Bharat Mata pictures will be installed at both ends of every flyover in the city, as per the decision made by the financially strapped Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) to spend Rs 55.32 lakh.
In order to put the artwork at the ends of each flyover and railroad bridge in the city, the local government floated two tenders for Rs 27.66 lakh each.
According to sources, the civic authority reached this decision after the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) suggested that every flyover and bridge should feature a Bharat Mata image at both ends.
According to sources, the civic body has chosen 40 locations for the installation of these photographs. The bids will be opened on February 13, and the work will start once contractors have been chosen.
Officials from the civic body’s political and executive wings acknowledged its significant financial duress in August 2022 and borrowed Rs 350 crore from the state government to continue operations.
On January 24, a bid was made in this regard. The structure and graphic design will take into account the available space.
