Amdavadi Girl Bags National Bravery Award

Raising Day 2023 activities in the Region North West held on Saturday, 04 February 2023 with a Troops Get Together of the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) fraternity in which ICG Officers, men, civilians, and MES (Military Engineering Service) personnel of the Region and their families interacted and participated.


During the event a seven-year-old, National Bravery Award winner girl, Kumari Veerangana Adityasinh Jhala from Ahmedabad was also felicitated by Inspector General AK Harbola, TM, Commander Coast Guard Region (North West) for her spirit of bravery. On 07 August 2022, when a major fire broke out in the buliding, the girl saved lives of more than 60 people by timely getting them evacuated .The girl received the National Bravery Award by Indian Council for Child Welfare (ICCW) on Republic Day at Delhi.


Additionally, ICG wards were also felicitated by Kavita Harbola, Regional President Tatrakshika during the event. The event included cultural programmes by ICG wards, music and dance performances by various artists.
