Every Sunday, a large crowd of fans gathers outside Amitabh Bachchan’s Jalsa bungalow in Mumbai, hoping to catch a glimpse of the legendary actor. Standing on a pedestal, Amitabh Bachchan greets and waves to his fans, ensuring even those at the farthest end of the crowd can see him. However, keen observers have noticed that he always meets his fans barefoot. Finally, the superstar has revealed the reason behind this unique practice.
For Amitabh Bachchan, the Sunday meet-and-greet with fans outside Jalsa has become a cherished ritual. Whenever circumstances prevent him from attending, he diligently informs his fans through his daily blogs and tweets. On June 6, he took to Instagram to share a photo from his Sunday interaction, once again appearing barefoot.
In a poignant caption accompanying the photo, Amitabh Bachchan addressed the curious minds questioning his choice. He wrote, “They ask me somewhat contentiously.. ‘who goes out to meet fans barefoot’? I tell them: ‘I do.. you go to the temple barefoot.. my well-wishers on Sunday are my temple’!! ‘You got a problem with that!!!'”
This heartfelt explanation reflects the deep reverence Amitabh Bachchan holds for his fans. To him, the Sunday meetings are not merely encounters; they are like visits to a sacred place. Drawing a parallel with visiting a temple, the actor equates the presence of his well-wishers on Sundays with a spiritual experience.
Earlier in May, Amitabh Bachchan informed his fans about missing a Sunday meeting through his blog. Expressing his thoughts on the fleeting nature of communication and understanding, he pondered the direction in which society is heading. Additionally, he mentioned a work commitment that might prevent his appearance and urged his fans to be prepared for a potential delay or cancellation.
On the professional front, Amitabh Bachchan is currently engaged in the filming of Nag Ashwin’s Project K. However, he recently sustained an injury on set. He has also resumed work for Section 84, a film written and directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, featuring co-stars Diana Penty, Abhishek Banerjee, and Nimrat Kaur. Despite his busy schedule, Amitabh Bachchan continues to make time for his cherished Sunday interactions with his adoring fans, symbolizing the bond he shares with them.
