Krutarth Patel, one of the owners of R K Angadia in Navrangpura of Ahmedabad, had filed a complaint with Ellisbridge police, saying that when he was driving his car from Nehrunagar to Navrangpura, he got attacked and robbed of Rs 28 lakh by a motorcyclist.
The incident started when a motorcyclist hit Patel’s car near Panjrapol. However, Patel continued to drive on but had stopped at the signal in Ambawadi as it had turned red.
The motorcyclist then approached his vehicle from the left and knocked on the car door. When he lowered the window, the man punched the sunshade net attached to the window, which hit him in the face. The robber used this opportunity to grab my bag containing Rs 28 lakh in cash.
The man, described as wearing a sky blue shirt and a face mask, fled on his motorcycle. Ellisbridge police have registered the case and begun an investigation. Cops have started collecting CCTV footage to identify the accused. Police officers believe that the accused might have done a recce of Patel’s routine before planning the loot.
Earlier also, on January 10, four men opened fire at three employees of angadia firms and robbed them of Rs 15 lakh in cash and other valuables. The attack took place near Hotel Hyatt on the busy Ashram road.
