APSEZ handled its highest ever monthly cargo volume of 50MMT in a single month during August 2026. The milestone underscores strong performance across APSEZ’s nationwide and international port network and represents an increase of 19% YoY.
The record monthly cargo volume reflects the success of APSEZ’s diversified growth strategy. Strong growth in containers, supported by the rapid success of APSEZ’s transshipment platform led by Vizhinjam and Colombo, continues to expand the company’s share of regional trade flows. At the same time, APSEZ is steadily strengthening its presence in liquid cargo while gaining traction in dry cargoes including coastal cargo. The record monthly performance further reinforces APSEZ’s trajectory towards its ambition to handle 1 billion metric tons of annual cargo volume by FY31.
For August’26, all-round cargo growth was driven by dry cargo (25% YoY) and containers (15% YoY). YTD August’26, APSEZ has handled 234.4 MMT of cargo (16% YoY) led by dry cargo (17% YoY) and containers (15% YoY).
