Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday reiteriated country’s aggressive policy on cross-border terrorism and said that the Indian Armed Forces have shown the Pakistani military that there is no place left in Pakistan where the terrorists can sit and breathe in peace.
He was addressing Indian Air Force warriors at the Adampur Airbase in Punjab. “The terrorists rely on the Pakistani Army… the Indian Army, the Indian Air Force, and Indians have made that Pakistani Army bite the dust, he said.
He also warned about India’s modern military capability, saying that “our drones, our missiles, just thinking about them will keep Pakistan sleepless for days.”
In an address to the nation on Monday, Modi had described Operation Sindoor as India’s new normal. He reiterated this today.
PM Modi said, “India’s ‘Laxman Rekha’ against terrorism is crystal clear now. If another terror attack occurs now, India will give a reply – a solid reply. We saw this during surgical strike, during air strike. Now, Operation Sindoor is India’s new normal.”
The Prime Minister was all praise for the three wings of the Armed Forces, saying that “every moment of Operation Sindoor bears testimony to the capability of Indian armed forces”.
“During this, the coordination of our armed forces was genuinely fantastic. Be it Army, Navy or Air Force – their coordination was amazing. Navy showed its dominance over the sea, Army strengthened the border and the Indian Air Force attacked as well as defended. BSF and other Forces displayed fantastic capabilities. Integrated air and land combat system did amazing job. This is jointness. This has become a strong identity of the capability of Indian armed forces,” he said.
Meanwhile, at least three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed in the Zinpather Keller area of Shopian on Tuesday in an encounter with the security forces.
Operation Keller was named after the encounter site. The operation was carried out after the Army received “specific intelligence” from the Rashtriya Rifles unit.
AK-47 rifles and other arms and ammunition were recovered.
