At least 32 people have died in the Lattha incident at Rojid village in Botad, and 78 are undergoing treatment in the hospital. In recent developments, an audio clip related to the incident went viral. Following this, the officials transferred a woman ASI at Barwala, Asmi Banu, to the Ahmedabad Headquarters.
According to the sources, a woman PSI, allegedly involved in the Lattha incident in Botad, received a transfer order on July 26. In the viral audio clip, the woman ASI Asmi Banu, home guard constable Prakash Koli, and a bootlegger named Mehul from Chokdi village discuss the setting of a money instalment. The audio has gone viral on social media.
Meanwhile, the Home Minister of Gujarat, Harsh Sanghavi, informed that the Gujarat government has set up a committee with top officials. The committee will probe the Lattha incident and the ‘misuse of chemicals’ in the Botad district. Further, they will submit the case report to the government.
