As AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal made a pitch for printing images of Hindu deities Ganesh and Lakshmi on currency notes, the Congress and BJP have trained their guns on the party in power in Punjab for removing Mahatma Gandhi‘s photos from government offices.
Gujarat BJP president CR Patil warned the people to remain vigilant and ensure that the AAP does not push to remove Mahatma Gandhi’s image from currency notes.
He was referring to the fact that AAP has removed Gandhiji’s photos from the Punjab Chief Minister’s Office as well as from all government offices in Punjab after coming to power.
Congress too criticized AAP for removing Gandhiji’s phorograph from government offices in Punjab. Senior observer for Gujarat polls by the Congress and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that AAP does not have any moral right to seek votes in Gujarat after removing Gandhiji’s picture in Punjab.
Kejriwal and his party are putting in all efforts for the upcoming assembly elections in Gujarat. AAP is sensing a positive public mood in their favour in Gujarat.
