BJP Leaders And Workers Assemble At Kamalam For Victory Celebrations

With the announcement of the results of the Gujarat Assembly Election 2022, leaders, office-bearers of the BJP from the region and the followers started assembling in large numbers at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Gujarat region head office, Kamalam.

The BJP office at Koba, Gandhinagar wore a festive look with everyone in a celebratory mood, dancing to the blaring music. The BJP workers overjoyed with the victory were distributing sweets to each other.

Freshly minted BJP MLA Alpesh Thakor reached the BJp office with his supporters. He greeted the leaders and workers.

The counting of votes started at 8 am today. From the beginning, the Bharatiya Janata Party candidates were leading in the counting and as soon as the victory of the BJP was decided, a victory festival was started at the BJP office in Kamalam.

A record win of 149 seats set up by Congress Chief Minister Madhavsinh Solanki in 1985 had always been a benhmark BJP juggarnaut wished to surpass. Today, by winning 156 of 182 seats, BJP set a new record. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself could not surpass the tally of 149 during his time in Gujarat as Chief Minister.

BJP reaceved an impressive vote share of 52.65%. The Congress’ vote share shrunk to 27.3%. AAP gained 12.9% , directly helping it to catapulate itself into becoming a national party. AAP won 5 seats and Congress vame down to 17 from 77, in previous election.

In today’s celebration at Kamalam, Gujarat State BJP President CR Patil and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also arrived at Kamalam and joined workers and office bearers joined in the victory celebration.

Among the winning candidates who reached Kamalam was Chief Minister designate Bhupendra Patel. A special Mahila Morcha event was held as part of the celebrations in Kamalam. BJP leaders celebrated with gulal, music and dhol nagara in the celebration.
