Mahila Morcha arm of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in Gujarat yesterday organized a GEM Portal workshop, where the achievements of women entrepreneurs were celebrated. During the workshop, women were also given a detailed explanation regarding the workings of the portal and trained on the multiple processes involved. They were guided on how they could register, login, and operate the portal to gain maximum benefits.
Dr. Deepika Sardava President of Mahila Morcha, who also chaired the event, said that this portal has made it easy for women to build their businesses and increase women’s participation in the Indian market. She said, “This portal aims to empower women and make them self-reliant. This portal also provides employment through the government medium, where all their products can be sold online.”
Usha Bajpayee, National Gem Portal Coordinator, said that it is very important to make women self-reliant. She offered guidance on the operations of the GEM Portal. “Through this portal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of Digital India has gotten a major boost,” she said.
During the workshop, the ministers gave the example of Pabiben Rabari, who had achieved self-reliance through online trade of her products. She runs a successful business through Pubiben.com.
The event was also attended by National Vice President Dr. Jyoti Pandya Sheth, and other members including Madhavi Bhuta, Dr. Trupti Vyas, and Nipa Kamal Patel. Gordhanbhai Zadafia, Vice President Gujarat State BJP, was also present here.
