Gujarat BJP had to suspend its Taluka president from the party’s primary membership for 6 years, after Astik Patel accidentally shared objectionable pictures of his girlfriend in a whatsapp group.
The incident took place a few days ago when Astik Patel was chatting with his girlfriend while she was taking a shower. Patel took screenshots and clippings of the video chat which he meant to share with her, but unknowingly shared with Sarpanch’s Whatsapp group.
BJP believes in respecting women’s rights and decency, while maintaining a dignified culture at their workplace. Hence, in lieu of that, the Taluka president had to be suspended to maintain class and decorum in the office.
According to BJP’s Surat’s District Committee President, at first the complaint was received by the party and only after cross-verification was the decision to suspend him undertaken.
D.S Gadhvi, Surat’s District Development Officer revealed that Astik Patel resigned as President of Choryasi Taluka Panchayat, on, party’s orders. The resignation is scheduled to be taken up during the working committee meeting on June 16. The new President will be elected on the same day.
