The Border Security Force (BSF) has successfully stopped an attempt of smuggling contraband coming from Pakistan to Gurdaspur Sector, Amritsar, Punjab and recovered two packets BSF personnel foiled a devious attempt by anti-national elements to smuggle banned material on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
“On 09 Feb 2022 at about 0050 hrs, alert forward troops in the Panjgrain area heard the buzzing sound of a suspected flying object coming from Pakistan side to India side. Alert BSF troops subsequently fired upon the drone. During a search in the area of village Ghaggar and Singhoke by BSF along with trained dog with a dog handler, two packets of yellow colour with suspected contraband have been recovered so far,” said BSF.
The area is at a distance of approximately 2700 meters from the International Border (IB) and the search is still in progress.
The items that were recovered include the following:
Container 1
1. Nylon thread- 02 roll( approximately 50 meters each)
2. Timer – 1 hr 05 min
3. Detonator electric- 03 ( 01 copper and 02 aluminium)
4. Commercial Cordex – 06 Nos( 3 inches each for booster effect)
5. Polarised cell- 02 nos
6. Plastic Pipe- 5” length and 1/2” dia ( for fuze purpose)
7. Magazine- 01 nos
8. Rounds – 09 nos
9. Explosive qty- 2.640 kg RDX( Black Colour)
10. 3 Steel Container ( 01 outer, 01 middle, 01 inner)
11. Cycle ball for splinter- 1.4 kg
12. Indian currency- 1 lakh( 50 notes of Rs 2000 each)
13. Packing foam- 01 no ( round shape- to hold explosive over container)
14. Cello tape yellow colour for wrapping
15. Wooden frame ( 15cm x 10cm)
