On Saturday, new ministers took the oath of office, expanding the Karnataka Cabinet. N. Rajanna, Dinesh Gundu Rao, Sharanabasappa Darshanapur, Shivanand Patil, HK Patil, Krishna Byregowda, N Chaluvarayaswamy, K Venkateshtake, Dr. HC Mahadevappa, and Eshwar Khandre were among those who received the governor Thawar Chand Gehlot’s oath of office.

24 lawmakers were to be sworn in as ministers in the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah-led administration on Saturday, according to a list published by the Congress party on Friday.

The Cabinet will then have all 34 members present including Byregowda and Patil.

In the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK Shivakumar, the new ministers took their oaths of office.

Meanwhile, Rudrappa Lamani’s followers in Karnataka organised a protest outside the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee office, calling for the politician to be appointed to a cabinet position.

On May 2, Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar took their oaths as chief minister and deputy, respectively, along with eight other ministers.

After negotiations with the party’s central leadership, the chief minister of Karnataka and Shivakumar enlarged the state’s cabinet.

In the 224-member Karnataka assembly elections on May 10, Congress won 135 seats, unseating the incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party, which won 66 seats in the southern state.
