On the eve of the eighth International Day of Yoga (IDY), Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel unveiled a book titled ‘World Yoga Day – General Yoga Course’. The book offers an introduction to Yoga, its tradition, and its unique history through the ages. It will also talk about traditional disciplines, step-by-step training for yoga as well as different methods of pranayama and their benefits.
Furthermore, the book covers instructions and methodology for simple asanas that people can practice in their day-to-day life. It also offers easy tips to do these exercises defectively and necessary precautions so as to not hurt oneself.
The book was compiled by AYUSH to further promote awareness regarding Yoga and its benefits. The launch ceremony was attended by Health Minister Rushikesh Patel, Minister of State for Finance Kanubhai Desai, Minister for Tribal Development Nareshbhai Patel, Minister of State for Health Nimishaben Suthar, and Minister of State for Urban Development Vinodbhai Mordia. Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department Manoj Agarwal and Director of AYUSH Dr. Jayesh Parmar were also present here.
