While the country is glued watching the Maharashtra politics unfold, the Congress, Thursday, announced its list of district and city working presidents in Gujarat.
The move is being seen as a measure to strengthen party base. The names announced are expected to work hard to revive the grassroot levels. In a prep mode for the upcoming state elections, the next move by the grand old party is usually deployment of frontal organisations. The final list of candidates for the upcoming state Assembly polls in December remains the subject of much speculation.
In the not very far past, speculation was rife about election strategist Prashant Kishore rousing the party’s crumbling structure. Though not united as an Opposition, the Congress and the AAP remain the two parties which can challenge the BJP’s possible seventh claim to the 15th Gujarat Legislative Assembly. The 14th Gujarat Legislative Assembly election, 2017 was held on December 9, 2017 and December 14, 2017 to the 182-members house. The INC won 77 seats in the elections, up 16 seats while the incumbent BJP won 99, down by 16.
