Congress Leader Shaktisinh Gohil Questions BJP’s Recruitment Strategy

| Updated: March 6, 2024 21:51

Gujarat State Congress President, Shaktisinh Gohil took a swipe at the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) for over the induction of Congress’s top leaders and MLAs into their party. This statement came after Arjun Modhwadia, a former Congress leader, resigned from Congress and joined the BJP on March 5, 2024.

He questioned the BJP’s decision to accommodate these former congress leaders, who had previously equated top BJP leaders such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah with infamous criminals Ranga-Billa.

While addressing the media this evening (March 6, 2024), Gohil responded to the issue of BJP’s recruitment of top leaders from the Gujarat Congress. He stated, “Firstly, the BJP has its own people, then why do they need us to join them? The entire BJP has become Congress-inclusive. A Congress-free India will never happen because the soul of India is Congress, as Mahatma Gandhi had said. But now, the entire BJP has become Congress-inclusive.”

Highlighting the strength of the BJP, Gohil took the name of Rishikesh Patel, the spokesperson of the Gujarat government, and targeted the ruling party. He said, “Rishikeshbhai, you are very powerful and you have done good work. So until yesterday, anyone who called your leaders Ranga-Billa, equated with a madman, wearing a collar, then why do you need to sit in the den of the one who reveals the entire history of your state president? Think about it!”
