For the third consecutive day on Saturday, Ahmedabad recorded more than 100 daily positive cases of Covid-19. The city recorded a total of 128 fresh covid cases, which was around 55 per cent of Gujarat’s total cases.
Gujarat reported 234 new covid cases on Saturday with its active cases tally reaching 1,261 cases. Out of these active cases of the state, as many as 690 cases are active in Ahmedabad. The daily active cases in the state witnessed a spike of 79 per cent in a week.
Apart from this, Surat reported 27 new cocid cases, Vadodara 22, Bhavanagar 12, Seven in Bhavnagar and Valsad each, four each in Bharuch, Gandhinagar and Surat and three each positive Covid-19 cases were reported in Jamnagar, Rajkot and Vadodara. Also, there were a total of eight districts with zero positive cases of Covid-19 reported.
Meanwhile, a total of 4,983 people received their first Covid-19 vaccine jab and 23,570 received their second jab in Gujarat in the last 24 hours.
