| Updated: January 22, 2022 18:57

Private data related to Covid of more than 20 thousand Indians have gone missing from the government server. Allegedly, details including names, ages, mobile numbers, addresses and results of the Covid test have been leaked.

The leaked data has been put up for sale on the Red Forum’s website, where a cybercriminal claims to have the personal data of more than 20,000 people.

Cyber security expert Rajasekhara tweeted that Personal Identifiable Information (PII) including name and Covid-19 result has been made public through a Content Delivery Network (CDN). He said in a tweet that PII, which includes the Covid-19 RT-PCR result and the name, mobile, address, etc. of Covin data, was being made public through a government CDN.

Google has indexed about 9 million public or private government documents in search engines and patient data is readily on the dark web.

However, the Ministry of Electronics and IT has not yet responded to the emailed question.
