Craving The Cuppa? At Vadodara, You Can Eat It Too

In a bid to do something different and also work within the sustainability guidelines, four friends in Vadodara have come up with a novel idea. At their chai stop, once done with the drinking, you get to eat the whole-wheat edible chocolate-flavoured cups!

“Clan Tea House” is the brainchild of four friends. “It takes care of having a munchy alongside tea. Also, we did not want to use plastic or paper cups because we would like to do our bit for the environment,” shared Luvkush.

The foursome grew up in an orphanage and are bonded by a similar childhood. The others, Vikas, Shankar, Suraj alongwith Luv, were all determined to embark on an entrepreneurial venture with a difference. Their tea outlet in Nizampura area has been named “clan” for a special reason. “It stands for Care Liver Association Network,” explains Luvkush, adding that a portion of their proceeds is donated to the foundation.

When asked to explain the reason behind the edible cups, Suraj added: “As soon as plastic was banned, we thought that we could try something new. Along with plastic, paper cups also harm the environment because it entails cutting down trees.”

The friends did a bit of research and recce, particularly in Delhi. “We came across a tea stall in Delhi which has wheat-flour cups. That was the beginning and then we checked online. The cups are ordered online. So far, the response has been great,” added the young men.
