Crores Of Duty Evasion Exposed: Containers Of Pakistani Dates Smuggled Under Name of UAE At Pipavav Port

A multi-crore duty evasion scam in the name of Delhi’s dummy firm has been exposed at Rajula’s Pipavav port on the coast of Amreli district.

As many as 80 containers of Pakistani dates smuggled in the name of UAE have been detained at the port. However, 100 crore duty has been evaded by showing these containers from UAE.

Imports from Pakistan are subject to 200 per cent duty, while UAE is subject to 30 per cent duty, so the accused showed containers from UAE instead of Pakistan. 70 per cent duty evasion has come to the fore while 500 containers before the customs department was notified.

At present, the customs department has detained 1600 tonnes of dates against duty evasion of Rs 100 crore. An emergency meeting of top officials of the customs department has also been called.

Suspicions of Pakistanis funding terror through date trade
It has also been urged to take action against the customs officials who issued OCs without inspecting 500 containers. There are also suspicions that Pakistani leaders are providing terror funding through the date trade. No one was suspicious until the first 500 containers were cleared. However, the scandal has finally spread to the entire industrial house at Pipavav Port.
