Govt Postpones Defence Expo 2022 Due To Logistics Problems

India’s Flagship Defence Trade show Defence Expo 2022 which was proposed to held at Gandhinagar Gujarat has been postponed after participants faced logistic problems.

A. Bharat Bhushan Babu, spokesperson of Ministry Of Defence took to his official twitter handle to share the news.

According to sources, several participants including some top executives from top companies and foreign government representatives have expressed about their inability to attend the defence exhibition.

Reportedly, a  total of 842 exhibitors had already registered for this grand Expo. Other 1000 exhibitors from 70 vivid nations were expected to follow. This year’s Expo was to be held in a hybrid model, where attendees had the liberty to join the event through a virtual platform and participate in seminars B2B meetings and view products. The Ministry of Defence has also launched a Mobile App for this year’s expo.

Lucknow hosted the first edition of this conclave involving African countries during the last DefExpo in 2020, 154 delegates from 14 African countries, including defence ministers participated in that conclave. This year’s second edition will be held on an even larger scale and is expected to strengthen the defence cooperation between India and African nations.

In previous editions of defence exhibitions held in India, America and Russia have proven to be prominent participants by showcasing their latest defence technology.
