A Delhi Police Sub-Inspector was allegedly seen assaulting men who were offering namaz in Delhi’s Inderlok area on Friday morning. The sub-inspector, identified as Manoj Kumar Tomar, is attached to the Inderlok police post.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media platforms. In the video, Tomar can be seen kicking and slapping the men who were offering prayers on the road. He is also heard shouting at the men, instructing them to get up and vacate the area.
Following the incident and the subsequent public outcry, Tomar was suspended with immediate effect. The suspension was confirmed by senior officials from the Delhi Police.
The incident occurred at a busy intersection in the Inderlok area where people were offering namaz on Friday morning. Officials have stated that they are currently verifying if permission was granted for prayers to be offered at that particular spot.
