A 30-year-old delivery man suffered injuries after he jumped from the third floor of a building. The man was scared of a barking dog in the house where he had gone to deliver a parcel. He was delivering a mattress to a Manikonda flat on Sunday, the dog reportedly began barking at the partially open door of the customer, they claimed.
In order to escape an attack, the man rushed for cover and climbed a railing, but after doing so, he slipped and fell to the ground, according to the police. The customer and some other people helped the man get taken to the hospital, where his condition is now said to be stable.
According to a police officer at the Raidurgam police station, the incident resulted in several injuries for the delivery guy.A charge has been filed against the dog owner under Indian Penal Code Section 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animals). A probe is underway.
In the meantime, the Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union (TGPWU) demanded in a release that the dog owner pay for the delivery executive’s medical care.
