The captivating soundtrack of Rajadhiraaj: Love. Life. Leela., a groundbreaking mega-musical that brought the timeless Leelas of Shri Krishna to life, is now available for streaming on all major music platforms worldwide. The musical, conceptualised by visionary Dhanraj Nathwani, features an exquisite collection of 20 original tracks, composed by the renowned Sachin-Jigar duo, with lyrics by celebrated Padma Shri Awardee Prasoon Joshi.
The songs, which enchanted audiences in theatres with their beautiful melodies and dynamic scores, delve into the many facets of Shri Krishna’s life, from the unconditional love between mother and son, to the enchanting romance of Radha and Krishna, and the playful mischief of Balgopal. The diverse compositions evoke a wide array of emotions, offering listeners a chance to immerse themselves in the musical’s magic from the comfort of their own homes.
Dhanraj Nathwani expressed his excitement about the release, saying, “Music evokes a rich blend of emotions, and Rajadhiraaj’s songs have resonated deeply with audiences across generations. The enthusiasm we witnessed in Delhi and Mumbai led us to release these soul-stirring songs on streaming platforms, allowing them to reach a broader audience. We are releasing 11 tracks now, and we hope everyone will love them as much as we loved creating them.”
The soundtrack is a fusion of Western symphonic elements, inspired by Budapest, and traditional Indian classical music. The compositions incorporate various regional genres, such as haveli sangeet, Rajasthani and Gujarati folk, Sapakra, Raas Garba, and Hindustani semi-classical music, and feature local instruments including tabla, dholak, and shehnai. The tracks are brought to life by an impressive lineup of vocalists, including Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, Kailash Kher, Sachin Sanghvi, Parthiv Gohil, Keerthi Sagathia, and Jonita Gandhi.
Music composers Sachin-Jigar shared their thoughts on the creative process: “This project was both interesting and challenging, and we thrive on such experiences. Having grown up hearing the stories of Shri Krishna, this musical gave us the opportunity to bring the Krishna we know to the stage. We blended Western and Indian classical music, experimented with various local instruments, and created unique and dynamic melodies. Each song is different, and each one is close to our hearts.”
Following a successful run at Mumbai’s Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), Rajadhiraaj: Love. Life. Leela. was performed at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Auditorium in late November. Executive Producer Bhoomi Nathwani presents this musical masterpiece, which combines rich storytelling, stunning visuals, and soul-stirring live music. The production has been met with an overwhelmingly positive response, uniting audiences of all generations to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of India.
The world’s first mega-musical on Shri Krishna’s life will also premiere in Dubai in 2025.
