The Special Operation Group (SOG) of the Dwarka district police today seized narcotics worth nearly Rs. 45 lakhs from a beach in Shantinagar area.
The SOG was conducting a routine patrol in the wee hours when officers discovered a transparent plastic box near the beach in the Shantinagar area around 2 am. The substance inside the box was identified as charas upon examination.
The operation, led by PI P.C. Singharkhia and his SOG team, seized 897 grams of charas contained in the transparent plastic box. The estimated market value of the seized charas is Rs 44,85,000.
A complaint has been lodged under the NDPS Act at the Dwarka police station. No arrests have been made so far.
Preliminary investigations suggest that an individual ordered this quantity of charas and, fearing detection during police checks, discarded the substance either in the sea or on the beach.
