ED Reaches Delhi CM’s Residence in Liquor Policy Case

| Updated: March 21, 2024 20:17

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) team arrived at the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, mere hours after the Delhi High Court denied him protection from arrest in the ongoing liquor policy case on Thursday, late evening. The team, comprising 12 officials, entered the residence armed with a search warrant.

Kejriwal, who also serves as the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, has reportedly ignored at least eight summons issued by the ED in relation to the alleged liquor policy scam. In addition, he failed to respond to a summons issued on Monday by the agency concerning a money-laundering case linked to alleged irregularities in the Delhi Jal Board.

The ED’s visit to the Chief Minister’s residence comes less than a week after the arrest of BRS leader K Kavitha in the same liquor policy case. Following her arrest, Kejriwal was named as a conspirator in the case for the first time.
