What is ESI Act 1948?
The Employees State Insurance Act, 1948 is an act providing certain benefits to the employees in case of sickness, maternity and employment injury.
Under this act, the employees can draw some cash compensation if they fall sick which is generally 70 percent of their wages. In order to avail this benefit, the employee must pay his contribution for 78 days of six months.
