Fake Degrees Scam Busted by Ahmedabad Police, 2 Arrested From Bengal

The Ahmedabad Cyber Crime cell police arrested two West Bengal residents for allegedly hacking the Gujarat State Pharmacy Council’s website and selling fake marksheets and certificates generated by uploading bogus data on the website.

According to police, the two accused used a similar method to generate fake degree certificates for over 80 courses at 108 universities across the country.

Accused Atanu Patra (33) and Sudhankar Ghosh (30), both residents of West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district, were arrested, according to a police press release, after their involvement was revealed during interrogation of the case’s prime accused, Mrigank Chaturvedi.
