The farmers’ union have decided to continue the agitation until all of their demands are met in the upcoming winter session of Parliament – a release by Samyukt Kisan Morcha stated.
The farmers are urged to join in large numbers at all morcha sites on the first anniversary of the historic Andolan on November 26, while they will march to the Parliament from November 29, as per the official statement.
“Samyukt Kisan Morcha appeals to all protesting farmers to continue with the announced programs with full energies put in. SKM appeals to farmers to make Lucknow Kisan Mahapanchayat a great success on November 22. Toll plazas will continue to remain freed up,” the statement read.
The farmers’ union release stated, while PM Modi announced the decision to repeal three contentious farm laws, he remained silent on the pending demands and the death of around 670 farmers over the course of the protest.
“Demand for a statutory guarantee for a fair minimum support price is an integral part of the current agitation. Similarly, the current movement has also been seeking the withdrawal of the Electricity Amendment Bill completely and to keep farmers out of penal clauses related to statutes on air quality regulation in Delhi. All these demands are still pending,” the statement stated.
It further read, “Hundreds of false cases have been slapped against thousands of farmers in various states like Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh etc. All these cases have to be withdrawn unconditionally.”
