Floods in Bihar, where is the government?

| Updated: August 23, 2021 21:58

Heavy rains at Bhavnathpur village in Bihar have resulted in a heavy flood. There is water all around and people are suffering a lot like all of the transport routes in the village have been closed due to water. People cannot even get out of their homes. Even, the government officials did not come to the aid of the people and they expressed their indignation on social media.

Nowadays, social media has become the best way to convey a message. When the people are not able to reach out to the officials due to heavy rains, they are conveying their problem to people through live video on Facebook.

The young man said in a Facebook video, “This village is famous for mangoes. The jardalu mangoes from here are delivered to the President, the Prime Minister as well as the Queen of London. The mangoes from this village are packaged and delivered to many famous people. There are sports players from this village who have made a huge contribution to the country. Yet, we are all being ignored. All the people in this village have been hungry for 4 days but not a single official has come to inquire about the condition of anyone in the village.”

With this, the youth expressed his indignation and said that when floods hit Delhi, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, they are given grants. At the time, no one came to see their condition, even the ration and medical shops there are flooded. The government treats us with contempt.

The youth along with the public sought help. And appealed to the government to deliver the video.
