Fresh Student Clash At Ahmedabad’s Seventh Day School Raises Safety Concerns Again

| Updated: February 6, 2026 12:51

A fresh case of violence among students has surfaced at the Seventh Day School in Ahmedabad’s Khokhra area, once again drawing attention to safety inside the campus. This time, a Class 7 student was allegedly assaulted by three classmates during an altercation inside the school premises.

According to the complaint, the incident took place in the school bathroom, where four students reportedly got into a fight. The matter came to light after the injured student’s parent approached the Khokhra police station and filed a formal complaint. The parent alleged that the child was beaten up after a disagreement over standing in line, and that the assault appeared to have been carried out deliberately out of spite.

The incident has triggered concern among education authorities, especially given the school’s troubled history with student violence.

Following the complaint, the District Education Officer (DEO) issued a notice to the school’s principal and administrative head. Officials stated that the school management failed to inform the DEO’s office about the clash, which is being viewed as serious negligence.

The notice seeks an explanation for why the authorities were kept in the dark despite the incident involving multiple students and taking place within school premises. Education department sources said disciplinary action may follow if lapses are confirmed.

An education inspector has since visited the school and initiated an inquiry into the sequence of events, student conduct, and the school’s handling of the situation.

According to media reports, Education Minister Pradyuman Vaja also reacted strongly, saying that a detailed report has been demanded from officials regarding the latest incident at the Khokhra-based school.

The minister noted that the school’s failure to immediately report such an event reflects poorly on its internal monitoring and safety mechanisms. The education department has ordered a formal investigation, and the school has been warned against ignoring protocol in matters involving student welfare.

The latest clash has revived memories of a far more serious episode at the same school last year. On August 19, 2025, a Class 10 student was allegedly stabbed to death by another student with a sharp weapon inside the campus. The shocking murder triggered widespread outrage, with angry locals gathering outside the school and vandalising property in protest.

Following the killing, heavy police deployment was made around the school premises, and the institution remained closed from August 19 onwards. Parents had raised serious concerns at the time about their children’s safety and the overall discipline inside the school.

With yet another violent incident now reported, questions are once again being raised about the school’s ability to ensure a secure environment for students and prevent repeated conflicts from escalating.

Authorities are expected to take further steps once the ongoing inquiry is completed.
