BJP-Led Union Govt Invites Trump, Permits Kumbh Mela And Allows Spread Of Covid-19: Vijay Wadettiwar

| Updated: February 9, 2022 11:33

While his address to the Lok Sabha on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had alleged the Congress party of spreading Covid-19 in India. To which, Maharashtra Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Vijay Wadettiwar gave a reaction on Tuesday. He counter-alleged the BJP-led union government of inviting the then US President, Donald Trump to Gujarat and thus allowing the virus to enter the country.

While addressing the reporters, he said, “By allowing international flights in India to welcome Trump, the BJP-led union government allowed the deadly coronavirus to enter into India. While Trump brought Covid to Gujarat, international flyers were responsible for covid’s entry into Maharashtra. Apart from this, the saffron party also allowed the virus to spread even more by allowing Kumbh Mela in Uttar Pradesh, where over one crore people participated.”

In opposite to this, after you left the helpless migrants on their own in this grave situation, Congress helped out migrants who were returning to their native places barefoot. We did everything, right from providing food to arranging shelter for them. We also arranged transport facilities and bought them the tickets to make them reach their homes safely, Wadettiwar added.

He further criticized the Prime Minister for using Parliament for his political intent and settling scores. He would have targeted the party in political rallies than doing it in the house of democracy. The upcoming election results will be the citizens’ response to the sins that the union government committed during the pandemic, he added.
