Workers in Gujarat Will Have Subsidy To Purchase E-Vehicles

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has announced a scheme to the benefit of industrial and construction workers of the state by way of providing electrical vehicles at subsidized rates.

While launching the “Go Green” scheme and it’s portal at a function held at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, the Chief Minister said the scheme will have dual effects of reduced fuel bills for the workers and curbing pollution.

Under the scheme, an industrial labourer would get a subsidy of 30% on the vehicle’s price or Rs.30000 whichever is less on the electric two wheelers. For construction workers, it would be 50% on the vehicle’s price or Rs.30000 whichever is less.

Government is also planning to give one time subsidy of Rs. 1000 and Rs.2000 to industrial workers and construction workers respectively for covering the cost of RTO registration and road tax.

The subsidy would be available only on the government approved ‘ Made in India” high speed vehicles capable of covering a distance of 50 kilometres in single charge.
