Ahmedabad, February 6: The Gujarat government has taken strong action against a private school and a government primary school principal involved in the illegal admission of government school students.
Cabinet Minister for Education, Kuber Dindor, informed the Gujarat Assembly today that a private school in Paldi-Kankaj village, Ahmedabad, has been fined Rs. 1 lakh and its recognition permanently cancelled for admitting students from the government primary school and charging them fees. Additionally, an FIR has been lodged against both the private school administrator and the government school principal.
This action comes after senior Congress legislator Shailesh Parmar raised the issue during the Question Hour, highlighting the irregularities in admitting government school students to Sharda Shikshan Tirth School, a private grant-in-aid school in the same village.
Minister Dindor stated that upon receiving the complaint, a committee was formed to investigate the allegations. The inquiry confirmed the illegal admissions and led to the aforementioned punitive measures. Furthermore, the government suspended the principal of the government primary school in August last year following the initial investigation.
