Gujarat has been witnessing a steady rise in cases of coronavirus for the last 20 days. The growing number of cases has once again caused a stir among the people.
To curb the situation, the government has closed schools from classes 1 to 9 as about 1100 students are infected with the virus – the majority of which belong to Surat city. Out of the 1100 students infected, 532 students are from Surat.
Last Sunday, 70 students were infected in Surat out of which 9 were from Swaminarayan School and 7 from SPB Physiotherapy College. While students from GD Goenka, Lancer Army School, JH Ambani School, LH Boghrawala, Maheshwari Vidyalaya, Ryan International, Deep Darshan, Sharda Yatan, Vanita Vishram, Ashadeep, Agrawal Vidyavihar, Sanskardeep College, have also been infected.
6,275 positive cases were reported in Gujarat yesterday, out of which the highest was reported in Ahmedabad and Surat. Ahmedabad recorded 2,487 cases while more than 1,600 were reported in Surat.
