Power Minister R K Singh released the 10th Integrated Ratings, wherein four of Gujarat’s government-owned power companies have won A+ ratings. The companies to have secured the A+ ratings are Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited, Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited, Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Limited and Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited.

Kanu Desai, Gujarat’s energy minister, said that the state has established that it has one of the country’s best power distribution systems. “Earlier, only state-owned power companies of the country were considered for the rating. From this year, though, the private sector power distribution companies have also been included. State power companies achieved great success and maintained ‘A +’ rating, even having to compete with private players. ” he said.

Talking about the four state-owned companies that have achieved high ranks, Desai said that the companies’ employees and management are dedicated and committed to giving their best and performing at the highest level. Their work has been reflected in the rankings.
