Aam Aadmi Party leader Yuvrajsinh Jadeja was arrested in Gandhinagar by the Gandhinagar police on Tuesday for allegedly abusing, assaulting and dragging one of the police personnel on his vehicle’s bonnet,
The incident took place when Jadeja had reached out in support of around 55 detained protestors of ‘Vidyasahayak’ recruitment at the Superintendent of Police (SP) office in sector 27 of the state’s capital at around 4 pm in the evening, informed the police. Moments before his arrest, Jadeja said to the reporters that he had reached the SP office to help the fainted detainees, who were exhausted due to heat while protesting.
Claiming to have video evidence against Jadeja, the police had said that he has been arrested under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 307 for an attempt to murder and section 332 for intentionally hurting a public servant on duty. He initially abused and assaulted a few of the police personnel present on the spot followed by which, more personnel reached the spot and tried to control him. Eventually, he then tried to escape via his car but the policemen tried to stop his car, he dragged one of the policemen on his bonnet for a few meters. He was then detained by the police.
Meanwhile, in support of Yuvrajsinh Jadeja, his party – AAP has demanded his release and has alleged the government for falsely framing him as he has been fighting for the unemployed youth of Gujarat.
“The BJP government has arrested Yuvrajsinh Jadeja, who is fighting for the rights of the hardworking unemployed youth of Gujarat, in a false case. Harsh Sanghavi, why did you leave the main culprits and caught the innocent young man, arrest Vora if you have the courage. The Aam Aadmi Party stands with Yuvrajsinh Jadeja (sic),” tweeted Gujarat president of AAP Gopal Italia.
Yuvrajsinh Jadeja is a student activist and a man behind the cancellation of two government – Bin Sachivalay clerk and office assistant exams along with the head clerk exam by GSSSB and led the GSSSB Chairman, Asit Vora to resign on February 8, 2022. For the past three years now, Jadeja has been complaining and pointing out serious irregularities in the exams including paper leak scams with proofs.
