Gujarat Assembly Elections: BJP Starts Survey To Evaluate Each BJP MLA’s Performance

| Updated: May 4, 2022 08:52

Ahead of the Gujarat assembly elections which are likely to be held later this year, the state BJP has started conducting a seat-wise survey to assess the performance of the sitting MLAs of their partu, the sentiments of the voters and the problems faced by them. Apart from this, the BJP is also evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of holding early elections through this survey, the sources said.

Under the survey, the performance of the present MLAs of every constituency in the state will be evaluated by the agency hired by the BJP. The views of local leaders, local industry and trade representatives, the general public, journalists, party leaders and the opposition on party members and legislators will be taken into consideration during the survey.

Apart from this, factors like local issues, party performance as well as gender equations are also likely to be taken into consideration by the agency. After the survey, a detailed report will be prepared on the basis of all these responses and will be handed over to the BJP.

The survey agency will also collect feedback from government officials about potential BJP candidates. According to sources, the party will decide whether the sitting MLA will be repeated or a new candidate will be offered the opportunity.

Notably, the agency undertaking the survey is the same agency that had carried out a similar survey for the BJP in the West Bengal assembly elections.
