Gujarat’s Bhuj Renowned Painter Among 47 Indian Artists Awardees’ List

Art resides in the land of Kutch. Artists from Kutch have been nationally and internationally recognised time and again which embodies the line that defines Kutch – Khushboo Gujarat Ki.

An International Online Watercolor Competition was organized by International Watercolor Society Nepal and Arts Mate International with NB Gurug Art Studio Nepal in Kathmandu Nepal and out of the 47 Indian artists, one painting titled ‘Ahir’ from Kutch has made to the awardees list.

The famous painter of Bhuj, Lalji N. Joshi’s painting will be awarded Best Water Color Award in Kathmandu-Nepal in December 2021.

Lalit submitted the painting to the online competition held in August, 2021. He has been experimenting with various painting techniques including pencil sketching, acrylic painting, oil painting, water color painting, stone carving, etc. for the last 25 years. His paintings have usually had a focus on the culture of Kutch, its dressing, the fairs of the Ahir community along with the architecture and ancient idols.
