Gujarat BJP Mocks Covid Protocol With Ahmedabad Religious Fair Blessing PM

Despite the country now officially in the grip of the Third Wave of COVID, the BJP made a mockery of pandemic protocol as Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the BJP state president CR Paatil and several party ministers attended a mass religious gathering at the Sabarmati riverfront in Ahmedabad today to attend a religious fair— all to bless none other Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Monks like Nautam Swamy and Madhavpriya Swamy were major guests at the event.

Called a ‘Dharmacharya blessing ceremony’, the event was apparently organized to ‘bless’ the recent inauguration of the Kashi Vishwanath temple and Kashi Complex in Uttar Pradesh by Modi.

Allegedly, BJP leaders had instructed local councillors “to gather people” – allegedly 50-100 per ward – so that the PM being blessed by “1,000 monks” is witnessed by a massive crowd.

Accordingly, AMTS buses were brought in, packed with activists. Over 500 monks attended the Ahmedabad event, along with a large number of BJP workers, of whom many did not bother to wear a mask.
