| Updated: March 30, 2022 11:18

A rickshaw puller in Ahmedabad allegedly murdered his wife, son, daughter, and grandmother and fled after locking their bodies at home.  Police have registered a case of murder.
According to a preliminary investigation by the police, the accused identified as Vinod murdered his wife, Sonal Marathi, son Ganesh, daughter Pragati and grand-mother Subhadra Marathi, and ran away.
The accused, identified as Vinod had recently moved with his family to building number 30, Divyaprabha Society in the Viratnagar area in the city.

The matter came to light after Amba Behen, mother of the deceased woman informed the police on Tuesday evening. Her anxiety gave way to suspicion when her daughter did not answer the phone for four days. When police reached her daughter’s house, they found four bodies. The house was shut and the stench indicated that something was definitely amiss. After police went inside the house, they found the bodies of Sonal, Subhadra Behen, Ganesh, and Pragati in separate rooms.

Senior police officers also reached the spot and began questioning persons in the neighborhood.  Police have got CCTV footage of the area and have begun the investigation.

Police are also getting details of calls made by Vinod.

The neighbors told the police that the family had moved in only a fortnight back and the house was shut for four days.
