Amidst the rising cases of Covid 19 in Gujarat, the government announced the extension of the night curfew from 1am to 5 am. The curfew has been extended till December 10 across eight municipal corporations. It includes Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Gandhinagar and Rajkot.
This comes after Gujarat reported 27 new cases of Covid 19 on Monday. The tally of infections has now reached 8,27,435 and the death toll has remained unchanged at 10,092.
An official informed that 49 people were discharged on Monday. The state currently has an active tally of 262 cases.
Meanwhile, with the rising concern of a new variant of Covid 19, Omicron, the Gujarat government has released a fresh set of travel guidelines for international travellers. As per the new guidelines, people arriving from countries including South Africa, Brazil, Bangladesh, Botswana, Mauritius, China, Hong Kong, Zimbabwe, and the United Kingdom. New Zealand along with many others will have to present a negative RT-PCR test at the airport on arrival.
