Gujarat Govt To Build Cattle Shelters Worth ₹10 Crores: Jitu Vaghani

Following the strict order by High Court, Gujarat government announced a budget of rupees ten crores to build cattle sheds for strays. On August 24, the Gujarat High Court summoned the government to take a firm step to handle the cattle menace in Gujarat. Later, the Education Minister of Gujarat informed the media about the decision after the cabinet meeting.

According to the BJP Spokesperson, “The council of ministers has decided to build cattle sheds for the stray animals that took to the streets this monsoon. This decision will deal with the cattle menace in Gujarat. Moreover, the government shall build cattle sheds across eight cities and 56 municipalities of Gujarat. The cattle owners who do not have space to keep their cows can use the shelters. Furthermore, they will provide free transport and other services.”

According to Vaghani, other arrangements like animal husbandry are also a part of the plan that handles stray cattle of Gujarat. Jitu Vaghani mentioned that public safety is their priority. He said, “Whatever problem comes before the government, we will try to resolve it as soon as possible.”

Furthermore, Jitu Vaghani declared the cabinet’s decision that travel will now be cost-free for disabled people who travel outside Gujarat via State Transport bus. In addition, the State Transport Department will prepare thousand more GSRTC buses to make travel easier for the people.

Talking about the broken bridges and damaged roads during the monsoon, Vaghani said that Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has already directed the concerned officials about the same.
