Gujarat High court has sought report through Amicus Curiae about the present status of 169 hotels and resorts in the vicinity of Gir Lion sanctuary. In 2014, found violation the norms, these establishments were sealed and instructed to produce NOC from competent authority after making suitable changes as per environmental norms.

It is learnt that the court in February has appointed a committee to inspect and verify the issue of NOC. However, it was complained that though NOC process had been completed, the committee has not given it’s decision since six months

The Amicus Curare, Advocate Siraj Gori informed the court that he had already prepared such report in 2016. Court has informed him to prepare fresh report.
