For 20 years, the marriage was fine. Till a year ago, when his behaviour with her wife turned aggressive and unreasonable. She finally complained to the police on Monday when her husband hit her for using the phone. 

The woman, a resident of Paldi area in Ahmedabad, finally filed a police complaint with the Vasna PS on Monday. A mother of two girls aged 19 and 7, the couple tied the knot in 2001. However, he started picking up on frivolous issues, till last year on Jan 30, he hit for “using the phone in his absence.” This is according to the FIR lodged with the police. 

The woman was left at her parents’ home but not before she was “flogged with his belt… before her parents.”

The police is investigating the matter, especially why the FIR was filed a year later.
